I'd stay away from this and you certainly won't get any support from the Kodi folks either.

What are you on about? Are you for real?

I have been using HomeSeer and XBMC for years on end. I don't consider myself a pro but I'm way up there!

The information I provided is for those who use Kodi (above it's free for the masses)

      Sorry no offence

Just warning folks that there is no support through the Kodi channels. They are distancing themselves from these types of add-ons as well as folks selling low end Android boxes filled with this stuff.

That battle is lost. it's the same thing with most of the media servers. The largest user group is there to get around copyright and distribution laws. We had well over 1000 CDs and DVDs gathering dust in the garage. A media server was the only reasonable answer. But the entertainment industry chose to make it illegal for me to watch content I already paid to own on my own computer. They lumped me together with people trading bootleg prereleases over torrents and pulling in free DTV and now they can't separate us.

My phone home line to Plex was getting throttled so badly that I couldn't maintain a connection to authenticate to listen to my own music on my own server. I sent my ISP matching traceroutes, one from my line, and one exiting a VPN tunnel a couple miles from here. The one from my house went back and forth across the Atlantic three times until it died around 25 hops at telia.net, a known tarpit. The other one went merrily to Plex in five or six hops. That was repeatable on a daily basis. They still denied throttling my connection.

I understand the devs don't want to be stuck in the middle. Unfortunately they are in the middle and the entertainment industry and their ISP lackeys can go pound sand for all I care.

All makes sense to me but I doubt that the homeseer forums are the right place to talk about accessing potentially suspect content. That's my two cents.

Yup; I just tested the Leopold IP camera stuff and totally impressed with it.

Easy install without adding a repository of just using the zip file which contains a Python script file with connects to you IP camera either via RTSP or MJEG.

That said too you can also install screens and functional automation stuff today with Kodi.

I was using an older script(s) which you would have to manually configure per camera. This one has the feature of entering the HTTP of the camera. Plug n play.

Many times just watch the NASA live streaming. It is hypnotic.

I do not remote control my KODI boxes (well now they are STBs for me) rather prefer to use the Kodi boxes to control Homeseer or other automation in the house.

I moved from using HTPCs (mainly NUCs) to using Nvidia Shield TV devices around the house. The Netflix and YouTube integration on the Shield works really well, especially the voice control. I have been using Security Cam Overlay to trigger images from my cameras (controlled via BlueIris w/HS3 plugin) to show image stills up on Kodi. Works nicely. There is also a Yatse app for the android that will pause whatever you're watching/listening to in Kodi and display who is calling.

I don't try to be a pain but hence "HomeSeer General Discussion" is the name of the forum. I gained a lot from the folks in the HomeSeer forums. I have learnt that (any HomeSeer forum) no question is stupid. Ask anything and you will be surprised to see how many people out there are willing to help. To every question there is an answer. A while back I posted this :http://board.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=182489 The devil is with in the details. So I don't understand where the problem started. If you read on all sites providing Kodi plugins, they warn you they are not affiliated with kodi and/ or the apps they are providing are free. The internet is big! in conectivity and knowledge. There is a vast amount of people with knowledge. You will be surprised what you learn. For HomeSeer alone every dev's plugins including those provided by HomeSeer have their dedicated forums. Just asK! (By the way if are new to the forum and you want navigate your way arround the mass database of HomeSeer is in google search by topic "how do i/you do....................... with HomeSeer. Another trick on any post on the left click on the author's name and you will be provided with more info. and or if you want to contact them by private mail.

Going back to the origin of the post, If one needs to know how to use the plugin I have already illustrated in the image in I posted here :http://board.homeseer.com/showthread...56#post1254856
(can be triggered from HomeSeer in so many different ways!)

I learnt all about that from what I asked here :http://board.homeseer.com/showthread...93#post1254693

So my friend, sometimes you have to navigate the internet. It's all out there. Someone at a given a time is thinking of what you are thinking!, telepathy or the "power of your subconscious mind" What I learn, I love to share! And so do so many people here in these (HomeSeer) forums. After all does it pay to die the only wise guy in world?

                    Very nice macrho.

Yup; here using Aopen Digital engines (very simple looking) runing KodiBuntu.

I have read that the Nvidia Shield the current choice in best of Kodi players.

I left the Kodi overlay scripts in place here and wanted just test the new IPCamera script.

I just recently built a new KodiBox using the Xi3 Xi5A. Works nicely. Small odd looking media player; kind of like one of the Alien style PCs in miniature. Over the years have migrated from the older network media tank mode now to KODI. Last nice and small media player here was the Patriot Box Office. Very small with a 2.5" SATA drive.

While the OS is linux based it is all in firmware and today stiffled by having older video codecs.

Lately we watch the Kodi Daily Seinfeld shorts. Really only a few minutes of his hand picked clips.

I once stumbled upon this :http://board.homeseer.com/showthread...=131399&page=8 It makes you respect other people's judgement. They just compliment each other where necessary. I used to think I was the only one nuts about HomeSeer.

                          Hi,

I have tried the Foscam and the IPCam, and MultiCam on the KODI Jarvis build running from my NAS - I found all three to be really unstable plugins..
They were the latest versions too from the repo.

Like you, I first got XBMC on my chipped mark1 xbox (I lived to play Halo!) - since then - I have seen it develop into the worlds best media center across multiple platforms. Plugin's have never really taken off as good as they could have (unless its streaming).

One suggestion - Spud put together these:
                          http://forums.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=173650
                          http://forums.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=161852
I have not tried it yet, but intend too.
The overlay appeals to me more.

I'm not sure if it's of any use but an alternative I have been playing with is if I wanted to view all my camera's (which is more stable using HSTouch):
                          • If I set up an event; my tablet screen would switch to my multi camera screen.
                          • Then my TV would change to my HDMI input with cast dongle.
                          • I would then view my tablet on full TV screen and see my mutli camera mode, which looks much better.
                          • I would use a phone to control (which also controls my Kodi) using Spuds Plugin.

(Although I still need to find out how to switch HDMIs automatically on my Samsung).

                            Hi Smokeycoles,

In case you haven't noticed or read through the post and for goodwill I'm not bashing your post.
                            1. I have already posted one of the links of spud's plugin.
2.I have been using XBMC/Kodi since its inception (started off with LinuxMCE way back in days). My finds, kodi is overall stable running on a dedicated beastier machine when using wide sreen TV. Leave the NAS to (in case of Qnap you have Plex and Emby server apps/ Control 4 you have :https://www.qnap.com/i/uk/tutorial/c...howone&cid=104 to serve your media) do what the NAS does best.
                            3. The image I posted before in this post shows one of the screens I cooked up in HSTouch to control /trigger the scripts in HomeSeer using spud's plugin. And I can confirm it works a treat!

4.About the Samsung TV, I missed your post here :http://board.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=175953 . But I stated earlier before, HomeSeer forum database is huge! You just may keep asking. That said if you check this link here :http://board.homeseer.com/showthread...18#post1208318 Someone asked a similar question about TV control.

To finish it all off these guys here :https://www.pulse-eight.com/ are in the UK so you get your stuff the next day! If you even want go it alone without the WAF, then you could even have this :https://www.pulse-eight.com/p/184/ne...-w-hdbaset-pro and for all other goodies check these guys out :https://www.cyberselect.co.uk/

Note: The links I post (I'm not in any way affiliated with them but love AUTOMATION) are for helping others to find things would otherwise thought don't exist.
Like I said just ask! With HomeSeer anything is posible.

No. Will test them. Great news.

Lately (must be my age) just watch movies and prefer no interruptions. IE: literally shut off the phone and have HS just take the callers ID and never ring the phones (don't even bother to look at the CID while watching a movie.

Here relating to CCTV use Zoneminder. It's been years. It works fine with my current mix of HD IP Grandstream cams and older Axis server cameras. I am mixing the stuff a bit as I feed my OmniPro 2 Omnitouch touchscreens with the CCTV and Homeseer touch with the CCTV. CCTV though just works and I do not pay attention to it much except if I am displaying it on HSTouch. I prefer to utilize old pictures and screen savers on my KODI boxes.

That aside always have run Kodi on dedicated OS Linux machines for the STB's Only fluff has been the Linux OS which is less fluff than Android or Wintel. Never an issue.

Over the years have migrated from Windows dedicated stuff (Windows media Center) to Media tanks to Kodi with live TV integration (DVR functions). One little box now. I have removed or disabled the Blue Ray player from the mix. Very simple set up now. LCD TV, MM receiver, Kodi box and 7.1 speakers. I do collect older videos and those are on a dedicated NAS. IE: Star trek original television series and other older television stuff.

I have now gone to all dedicated NAS boxes. (embedded Linux except for my FreeNAS box - which is really embedded BSD). One is a 4 drive, another is a 5 drive and current newer (old now) 8 drive. I do not really need the first two any more as the 8 drive NAS box is 8 X 4 TB's. I did also have a 4 drive 1 U embedded Windows server NAS but have shut that one down. The 8 drive NAS is most compact and fastest right now using a dedicated LSi Sata controller. I do not run anything else on these boxes (they just store media whatever it is).

Relating to a Kodi to Homeseer 3 plugin I do think one can be done. You can though just run a HS3 touch client and do a push button to shut down HS3 client and turn on Kodi and then do the reverse. I do that today with VLC for audio and video.

I have also tested running HSTouch, Kodi, et al on a newer Windows 10 PipoX7. It plays back broadcast live TV concurrent with HSTouch just fine.

So the IPCam plugin is currently being tested with the CCTV feeds from Zoneminder. I did test with direct links to the IP cameras and it worked just fine.

On a side note just helped a neighbor / old friend move from a wireless stick Kodi to a wired dedicated Linux based micro pc running Kodi. When he originally saw my set up he said it was much faster than his wireless stick. I never really bothered to check his wireless connectivity and that could have been an issue. None the less he has gone to a Gb wired network connection for his Kodi STB and it is running just fine.
