godaddy problems, looking for new host.

This was the first place I though to ask, (lots of smart helpful people here).

I've been using godaddy for hosting my business site (public), ssl cert, and domain name for years for my business. I run my own exchange server for email (moving to zentyal).

After many years of proper operation their email relays have failed in the last month or so. https://www.godaddy.com/community/Ma.../m-p/8453#M810

Looking for advice... I really don't think the traffic to my site (public) is very high. Most of my business is word of mouth (service company). Should I host my own public site? Probably not worth the added attention to my private IP? (currently dynamic).

I hear there are free ssl certs now, are they appropriate for a business? (you get what you pay for?)

I need a domain host that I can send emails through a smart host, any recommendations?

Here utilize a variety of sites. Lately OK with x10 hosting. Emai / domains stuff is really old now...15 years maybe?

      Thanks for the reply pete.

should have mentioned that advertising on my business site is not acceptable. I'm not looking for a free solution. looking for something professional and reliable.

I don't understand about the advertising thing. I do not see any advertising on my sites hosted by X10hosting.

I've used iPower.Com for hosting my business Web site for over a decade. They have every thing you could ask for, email accounts, server side scripting, ssl certs. No advertising, banners. Customers service by really humans.

A great control panel allows you to manage files, domain names, backups, even payment information.

Check it out, pricing, plans to suit every one.

It looks like you have to use their domain ie.. mysite@x10.com. I own my own domain so that wont work.

I own my own domain too. (since the beginning of owning domains). I just forward it (always done that when using it). I do and do not do this these days.

So I signed up for a free account at sendpulse.com entered all pertinent information into my exchange 2010 send connector. Changed my outgoing mail server port to 2525 using directions from https://exchangeshell.wordpress.com/...ing-smarthost/ and I'm able to send emails again. Not sure how reliably yet but better that not at all with godaddy. At least I have time to go shopping for a new hosting provider now without being in a panic.

I haven't had anything hosted with them other than email for a couple of my domains but NameCheap has been great. Literally cheap, nearly instantaneous response, and knowledgeable support staff 24/7 on the chat thingy.

I migrated several domains from GoDaddy to Siteground couple of years ago. Solid systems, good support.
