  • How to - GE 12720 Zwave switch to 12.4 VDC

    Convert GE 12720 to operate from 12.4 VDC, I use these as landscape lighting control (12 VAC) and use a buck converter to supply the 12.4 VDC

    Why - This switch is Zwave plus and will act as a repeater.

    Black wire from plug is relay input
    Blue wire is relay output

    Green and White wires are disconnected, as not needed.

    12.4 VDC is supplied to the switch as shown in attached picture,
    red = 12.4 VDC Positive, Black 12.4 VDC Negative.
    (You should be able to measure 12.4 VDC at these two points before converting the GE 12720)

    Are you mixing 120VAC with the 12VDC in that box or is the entire switch running off 12VDC? There is a potential shock hazard if you mix and have a fault in the switch enclosure.

      Converting from 120 to 12 volts, all low voltage
