  • Importing Goods Customs Charges

I appreciate that this is an international thread, however, the Customs charges of purchasing goods from outside the EU have always been a question of concern. Following is the definitive statement from HM Revenue and Customs as to when charges will be levied.

I have to add a personal note that it also depends on which point the goods enter the UK, I have noted vitiations. If they enter through Mount Pleasant in London full levy will be applied - it's the training ground for Officers.

I will attempt to keep this up to date if and when things change.

Normally with HA equipment you are talking about paying the VAT which is OK, But, and this is a big but, The shipper who is bringing it into the EU will also charge a fee for handling the import.
