Not to sound too dense but how do you search in a sub folder like scripting?
    Don

Could a board admin please advise on this? The search box is missing when browsing a sub-forum. It is possible to search a specific thread, but the search box is missing when browsing a sub-forum.

How do we search within a specific sub-forum?

There is no sub-forum-specific search feature for this message board. You will need to use the general search feature for the board.

Hmmm. Seems like more of a forum downgrade in this respect, as the old forum did have this functionality. Is this related to the switch to using Google for the forum search function? Is this temporary?

It is literally not an available feature in vBulletin 5... has nothing to do with the Google search change. Google was implemented because the default search was not working properly and the open source search engine we tried (Sphinx) was crashing every week.

Guys... we're doing the best we can here. The ONLY other alternative would be to replace the board again with something completely foreign like Discourse. If we did that, NONE of the content here would convert and it's likely that everyone would need to start from scratch and register for a new account. vB3 is DEAD DEAD DEAD... there is no going back to that.

Didn't mean for that to come off as snarky as it did. I have a habit of doing that

I'm not at all advocating going back to the old forum, just making the observation that the new forum is missing that feature that it did have before the upgrade. I realize you can only do the best you can with the tools available. Seems like vBulletin dropped the ball in this respect.

I do like the new Discourse forums, but it would be a shame to not be able to carry over all the existing content. Hopefully vBulletin will add proper search functionality in a future version.
