It's funny how that's yet another movie quote that is univerally MISquoted. He never says, "We don't need no steenkeeng badges!"

Kinda like how Bogart never says "Play it again, Sam", or Capt. Kirk never says "Beam me up, Scotty."

Actually the original version is from the 1927 novel by B. Traven, The Treasure of the Sierra Madre:
All right," Curtin shouted back. "If you are the police, where are your badges? Let's see them."
"Badges, to god-damned hell with badges! We have no badges. In fact, we don't need badges. I don't have to show you any stinking badges, you god-damned cabrón and chinga tu madre!

They had to rewrite the line for the movie where Gold Hat gives us:
"Badges? We ain't got no badges. We don't need no badges. I don't have to show you any stinkin' badges!"

The version with "steenkeeng badges" comes from the 1974 Mel Brooks classic Blazing Saddles where most people miss the reference and especially miss the striking similarities between the characters from the character who said the line there and Gold Hat. But since this is a cult classic it gets all the quotes.

I've seen that line parodied in several movies. One was a competition between girl scout troops. The winning troop's coach was hispanic, and they got ready to present the girls with their winning badges. And of course, the troop coach said.......
"Badges? We don' need no steenkeeng badges!"

It's a favorite movie quote of mine. Along with,
"And this chair! That's all I needed..."
                    "It's only wafer thin."
                    "Better get a bucket."
"Oh we got both kinds. We got Country and Western."
"It's good to be the king."
                    "Abby someone."
"You just made a yummy sound..."
And, since I'm a Dad and Dad Jokes Rule:
"But Dad? Did you just call me Butt Dad? I ought to make you Butt Boy."

Hehe, I like this, or a custom badge with his username on it.

Given that Pete, as the closest follower, is still 15k behind, I don't see anyone hitting the same level within this forums lifetime.
