I need to monitor the Alarm LEDs on some medical equipment and was hoping to use the light sensor to do that but have some questions:
1- I'm not sure I want to use Z-Wave for a medical monitoring application so was planning to hard-wire the sensor to an Elk M1 alarm input instead. Can I purchase the light sensor separate from the Flex module? Is there a wiring diagram for the sensor so I can adapt it to the Elk?
2- If not is there a strategy to improve reliabilit of Z-Wave to medical monitoring standards? Maybe a separate Z-Net dedicated to monitoring these sensors on an isolated Z-Wave network?
3- Should I be looking at different light sensors that are better suited to hard-wired applications? Any specific examples?
