    ZEE failing to retrieve command classes

    I am installing the New ZEE

    I updated to current firmware upon setup and it immediately found my controller and devices when I set it up but it is not receiving the command classes it is failing to pull them.

    I have also been playing with the trial version of HSPro and It can control my devices there so I wouldn't think it is my network.

    please help
    Thanks Ken

    I had the z-troller enabled a while ago (version V.33) and the controller appeared to be OK with one Z-Wave device. I just enabled it again and see some issues.

    Note that I have only one z-wave device connected and no events running right now.

        I would like to see another Zee / Z-Wave user else chime in here.

        I want to add some more Z-Wave devices to this controller; will add some more before tomorrow.

        Meanwhile I went to the HS3 Pro box and installed the Z-Wave plugin and connected it to my floating Z-Troller. I have some 11 devices on that network. This is the first time that I have used the Z-Troller on the test HS3 box. Looking right now.

          Looking at logs from early this morning see the following.

          The HS3 machine connected to the HS Z-Troller logs look fine this morning. (also ran ZHealth early in the morning)

          I am not really too familiar with Aeon Labs Aeotec Z-Stick diagnostics.

          10/18/2013 1:00:00 AM Z-Wave ZHealth Finished.
          10/18/2013 1:00:00 AM Z-Wave ZHealth sent 29573 "Null Operation" commands of which 0 failed and 29573 succeeded for a 100.0% success rate.
          10/18/2013 1:00:00 AM Z-Wave ZHealth performed 0 optimizations of which 0 failed and 0 succeeded for a NaN% success rate.
          10/18/2013 1:00:00 AM Z-Wave ZHealth optimized 1 nodes out of 1 possible, resulting in 100.0% of the network being optimized fully or partially.
          10/18/2013 1:00:00 AM Z-Wave ZHealth is stopping Z-Wave network optimization - ZHealth stats:
          10/17/2013 11:32:12 PM Z-Wave Warning Zee-Stick: A Z-Wave command (ZW_SEND_DATA, Node=2, Cmd=NO_OPERATION) on interface Zee-Stick is still in progress, 4s to timeout. (15)
          10/17/2013 11:32:12 PM Z-Wave Warning Zee-Stick: A Z-Wave command (ZW_SEND_DATA, Node=2, Cmd=NO_OPERATION) on interface Zee-Stick is still in progress, 4s to timeout. (15)
          10/17/2013 10:00:00 PM Z-Wave ZHealth is starting Z-Wave network optimization
          Decided just to add more devices to the Zee Aeon Labs Aeotec Z-Stick instead of using another network.

          I have GE z-wave switches to test with (not sure if that will make a difference)

          I am only testing with external light and appliance modules and today just looking for some more spare outlets.

          Googling "No Command Class Information Available" ....

          String ZwaveNode02BasicCommandClass "Basic Command Class [%s]" (gZwaveNode02) {zwave="2:basic"}
          String ZwaveNode02BasicCommandClassLabel "Basic Command Class Label [%s]" (gZwaveNode02) {zwave="2:basic_label"}
          String ZwaveNode02GenericCommandClass "Generic Command Class [%s]" (gZwaveNode02) {zwave="2:generic"}
          String ZwaveNode02GenericCommandClassLabel "Generic Command Class Label [%s]" (gZwaveNode02) {zwave="2:generic_label"}
          String ZwaveNode02SpcificCommandClass "Specific Command Class [%s]" (gZwaveNode02) {zwave="2:specific"}
          String ZwaveNode02SpcificCommandClassLabel "Specific Command Class Label [%s]" (gZwaveNode02) {zwave="2:specific_label"}
          Guessing its relating to instant status from an old Intermatic z-wave switch? I just read its the same for the GE Z-Wave switches.

              Still waiting on some more users to chime in using the Zee and the Z-Stick.

              Personally here utilize mostly UPB.

              I do not see these errors on the Hometroller to HS2 machine with most recent version of HS2 running.

              I did move the floating Z-Troller serial port over to the HS3 machine. There are some 11 Z-Wave devices currently on the Z-Troller.

              Were you using Z-Wave before the last update of HS3 on the Zee?

              I enabled Z-Stick a couple versions back, tested it to be OK with one device then shut it off.

              I am seeing the difference in the boot up log and now see the command class errors.

                Pete I have been using Zwave for quite some time now, And the current stick works good with teh trial version of HS2Pro and with Ihouse another software platform, just not on the ZEE.

                  Yup; it seemed to be OK with the HS2 box and Z-Troller. I moved the floating Z-Troller to the HS3 box last night. Had a little "issue" over night which took down one cascaded switch which was going to the HS3 box. For whatever reason I am now having problems getting it on the network. That and the floating Z-Troller is on a serial port server on another cascaded switch. I can get to the serial port server / devices; such that it appears only to be a one switch / one box problem at this time; still playing this morning.

                  The Aeon stick initial turn on and configuration with one Z-Wave device also was OK here a couple of HS3 Zee versions back.

                  That said then with both of us having similiar issues with the Aeon stick and most current Zee HS3 version / Z-Wave drivers; there is an issue.

                  Have a look at opening up a ticket via bugzilla....

                    Z-troller not recognizing nodes

                    Hi-
                    I have been trying to migrate my network from a Z-stick to z-troller and also put my homeseer on a virtual machine with a GC ethernet to serial connector.
                    Once I finally figured out that I needed to install a GC plug-in (non-intuitive, use the IR plugin) from the Homeseer store, I was able to get the data loaded from the controller into the homeseer machine.
                    However, nearly half of the devices I had trained the Z-troller with were not there-- or at least we're unrecognizable to me. They seemed to be "Sigma Switch multi-level" switches with no controls presented-- even though they are all Cooper Aspire dimmable switches. Nothing I knew how to do was able to change the identify of the node to the correct device type so that I could control it. So, I deleted all of those missing devices from the network and reconnected them to the ztroller, and they all received new device ID's of course.
                    This does not seem to have made any difference, as a re-scanning of the controller simply produced another set of devices with new device ID's, once again. And again, they are interpreted as Sigma switches instead of Cooper Aspires and there are no controls on the homeseer page provided.
                    What do I need to configure to get out of this do-loop?

                    Also, my thermostats are not being recognized, also being called "Sigma Thermostats'

                    Please help!
                    Thanks in advance

                        I am seeing this as well in HS3 with zwave, items labeled as sigma switches and sigma thermostats and no command class loaded for them. I had to revert my zwave stuff back to HS2.

                        Any word on fixing the zwave plugin in HS3

                          ZEE failing to retrieve command classes

                          I found that with 90% of my zwave devices it was necessary to do at least one individual scan on each root node before all the details were picked up correctly. The scan of all nodes in one go rarely succeeded. Persevere and it works. It's just very time consuming.

                            I just added several Cooper switches and ran into the same issue. I've had relatively good luck with going into the Devices page, Zwave tab, and performing a rescan and optimize. With all the devices, I am now able to turn them on/off and set the dimmer level. 1 of the devices fails the optimize, but once it's neighbor switch optimized, some of the information showed up.

                              Did this issue get resolved? I'm finding that most new nodes that I add to my ztroller are getting "No Command Class Information Available." The latest node I added was a Leviton VRPD3-1LW.
