Update firmware on completely separate PC

Hi,

I don't have any serial ports at home, and I need to update my Ztroller firmware for operation with locks.

I presume it's ok to back up the network etc, and then do the firmware update on a completely separate PC from my HS one?

The instructions imply that it's all being done on the HS PC, but I really can't see why that should be required...

Yes, it is absolutely fine to do the firmware update on another PC. It is encouraged to do that if your normal connection to the Z-Troller from HomeSeer is through a network interface.

I'm planning to do this, because I'm currently using a USB serial connector for the Ztroller. It's been ok for normal use, but I never quite trust these things...
