  • HomeSeer Mobile Beta v4.1 (Android)

    HomeSeer Mobile Android Beta v4.1 is ready for testing. (v0.4.1b2)

    You can install from the Google Play store.

    This version includes the following:
    • Primary device configuration has been removed from the device details/list due to confusion around how it interacts with the primary device configured on related widgets. The primary device can still be configured on widgets as expected
    • Updates were made to traffic management and API call routing to improve connection time over MyHS
    • Leaving the port field blank when directly connecting to a system over hostname/IP will now build a valid URL and connect as expected.
    Known Issues:
    • Scrolling while dragging a widget is not yet supported
    Please post your feedback and any issues you find.


    Features:
    • Customizable dashboard. Add any device, resize, control items to show. Multiple dashboards are supported
    • Device list. Shows all devices, supports sorting and controlling any device and adding devices to the dashboard.
    • Event list. Show all events, run an event, add to the dashboard.
    • Camera list. Shows the latest snapshot from all cameras. Click on a camera to display larger real-time view and pan/tilt controls. The camera list is auto-updated every 10 seconds.
    • Supports log in from MyHS and local IP/Hostname.
    Getting Started:
    To get started, you must have HS3 version 3.0.0.478. You can grab that from here: https://forums.homeseer.com/showthread.php?t=181241

    You will need to install from the Google Play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...mobile.android
    Android Lollipop (v5.0 API 21) is the minimum supported OS version. For the best experience, we recommend Android Marshmallow (v6.0 API 23) or newer.

    Reporting Bugs / Issues:
    If you run into any crashes, you will be prompted with a dialog to submit crash info, please submit this! It will contain valuable information.

    If you find a non-crash bug or there is an enhancement you would like to request, from within HomeSeer Mobile select the menu icon (upper left corner) then the "Send Feedback" item. This will start an email. Fill it in and submit. You can include screenshots as attachments. This will create a ticket in our bug tracking system. You can also post any issue to this forum so others can review, but an issue will not get addressed unless it is in our bug tracker.

    I attempted to install from the play store and it showed already installed. Checked my phone and installed app showed 3.0.2_0.4.0b14. So uninstalled and reinstalled from the play store and version still shows 3.0.2_0.4.0b14 after reinstallation. Suggestions?

      Thanks for being so prompt and eager to update.

      It sometimes takes a moment for the Google Play Store to verify the app package and mark it as available. Check back every 15-30min. If you still don't see the update available then make sure all of the available updates listed in the Google Play Store are installed and then a button that will allow you to "check for updates" will appear; click that to force a check.

          Location 2 is still being displayed even when unchecked.
          When you edit a device, and then return to the dashboard the other devices are still randomly moved all around.

          I did submit through the app last version.

            There is an error message in the Cameras section when you change time zone in the phone (PST -> HKT):

            Error
            An unexpected error has occurred.
            The UTC time represented when the
            offset is applied must be between year
            0 and 10,000.
            Parameter name: offset

            Manually setting the phone to the original time zone (PST) makes the error go away.

              An update has been published to HomeSeer Mobile Android Beta v4.1. (v0.4.1rc3)

              This version includes the following:
              • Updated routing through MyHS so the list of available systems only shows those that are online
              • Fixed an issue causing new widgets to be incorrectly placed at the top of the dashboard
              Known Issues:
              • Scrolling while dragging a widget is not yet supported
              • Camera snapshots sometimes will not calculate the timestamp correctly when the timezone of the device has been changed
              • Location 2 always shows regardless of system settings
