The unit will not boot, It has a screen at boot that says the registry is damaged, to use recovery tools, but since the unit did not come with a cd or USB stick, it recommends I contact the manufacturer to get the appropriate boot disk or Rom card

Have you tried Find.homeseer.com" ? As long as the webpage finds your system there are recovery tools under the Maintenance button.
Since this post is a month old, I assume you got some assistance from HS support? if so please fill us in. I am trying to make a decision between the Pi and Plus
