    Only one system may connect to an Ethernet interface -ERROR

    HEllo All,

    had everything working then last night started to get this error and all of my devices stopped working:

    Note: Only one system may connect to an Ethernet interface at one time. If 2 systems are connecting to your Z-Wave interface, HomeSeer will not connect.

    Just repeats over and over again. Any help would be appreciated. I just restarted this network from scratch because i had a similar issue where all my devices stopped responding. Would like to not go through installing all the devices and rebuilding the events again.

    HI
    is there only the one Homtroller on your network? I ask because I am getting the exact same error on a very large system with two servers. Both Homtrollers can see the Znets that are giving this error. I just haven't confirmed if this is the cause or is it caused by something else.

      Hi
      i have one Zee S3 and then because I did not know any better I had a ZStick that was running my zwave network. The ZStick was running everything and was the only device that did zwave.

      I cannot connect the ZStick or the zwave chip that is in the controlller now. Just keep getting this error anytime I add an interface to the zwave network

        Any resolution to this? I'm having the same issue; I'm thinking that when I initially added the Z-Net, I had the SmartStick plugged in, which corrupted a config file somewhere. It'd be nice to be able to edit that file and get my Z-Net up.

          I did get it resolved. I had two systems setup on my zeeS2. Once I removed the additional system it started working

          My zstick was mistakenly set up as a controller

            Ok - thanks. Glad everything worked out for you, now if I could only get mine going. :-)

              just tripped on this thread, so not sure if still need the help. but I had a similar issue a while back so thought i should mention it.

              i have 6 z-nets and sometimes for no apparent reason they would get messed up. i found the issue with the Zwave.ini file, located in the Config directory of HS3. You'll see at bottom each zwave interface has a set of lines, including "IFace_5_Ethernet IP=192.168.1.xx". Mine had multiple interfaces with the same IP number.

              It's pretty obvious when you look at the file if that's the problem. Couple ways to fix it. if you run automatic daily backups of HS3 directory (you should), just find an older file which looks ok and move it to your current Config directory. If not, make a backup now of the HS3 and then edit the file to try to restore things. Be really careful and triple check, but these are just text files and pretty straightforward.

                This thread is new enough that I'm going to tag on...I have the exact same problem with a 5 yr old Aeon Aeotek Z-Stick. No amount of reboots or cursing seems to help. I checked the Zwave.ini file and found no problem there. I just get this message over and over...

                  Make sure you choose COM port when setting up the Z-Stick. But if you also have a ZNET as then only one zwawe interface can be "master" and the rest slaves because the HomeSeer zwave plugin does not allow additional setup from the Updater as some other plugins. (Not sure about this . I don't use mine)

                    My installation has also been working without any problems until today, when I started having the same message "Only one system may connect to an Ethernet interface at one time". I have Homeseer installed on only one computer with only one Smartstick+ and no other controllers.

                    I found that Homeseer now thinks my Smartstick+ is on COM1, where it has been on COM4 for ages. I had to change that back and it is working now.

                      Started seeing this error after adding a Z-NET to my system.

                      When HS3 starts up getting the error "Only One system may connect to an Ethernet interface at one time"
                      If I stop the Z-wave plug-in and restart it the errors stop.
                      It'd be nice if I could stop this from happening.
                      I don't restart HS3 very often so not a big problem, but I'd like to fix it if I could.

                      Running one PC with HS3, Smartstick+
                      Added one Z-NET to extend range.

                        I had the same error message. I have an AeonLabs Stick connected to a COM port. I had just to unplug/plug the stick and restart the plugin to make everything in order again.

                          So, has anyone figured this out? I have an S6 which I rebuilt using WIN 10 pro - (it was running really badly) - anyway installed HS4 from scratch - installed the Z-Wave S2 plugin and tried to setup the z-net but got the 'Note: Only one system may connect to an Ethernet interface at one time. If 2 systems are connecting to your Z-Wave interface, HomeSeer will not connect.' -

                          I have also tried to setup a Nortek HUSBZB-1 with the same errors AND tried to set up the Z-Net using another HS3 install on a Hometroller Zee S2 - I get the same thing -

                          I have opened a ticket with support but figured I'd reach out here as well.. I see no errors when booting the Z-NET attached to a monitor - I have a Z-NET V2 Configuration - Version 1.0.23.

                          Wireshark shows

                          HS using Port 49847
                          Z-Net using 2001

                          HS --> SYN
                          Z-Net --> SYN,ACK
                          HS --> ACK
                          Z-Net --> FIN,ACK
                          HS --> ACK
                          HS --> PSH,ACK
                          Z-Net --> RST

                          I run UNIFI hardware - UDM and switches - HS is not on a special VLAN

                          Thoughts?

                          Thanks ALL !!

                            Well - no luck here I guess - Support started to assist than went dark - so much for customer support.. I now have a S6 that's worth zip - luckily I have a hometollerZee I was able to get up and running but its limited to only 5 plugins - I use to be a satisfied HS user - Now - not so much

                              Harvito, I'm in the exact same boat as you. Only difference is I have an old Z-Net and now a new Z-Net. Oh, and I'm on HS3. Also have a HS4 Pi version, but havent gotten that working yet. UniFi HW as well.
