There are a lot of older and similar questions about replacing one HS installation with another, but things have changed over time, notably with HS4, so please excuse what is probably a repeat question.
Scenario: I have an existing HT Zee 3 upgraded to HS4 (so, it is essentially a HS Pi). I have a new Raspberry Pi 4 (still in the box) and a 500-series Smartstick+. I would like to install the HS Pi image on the new Pi 4, and move the existing configuration to the new unit. I want to start fresh with a new HS Pi image, vs. just cloning the SD card in the old unit.
I understand that I have to copy over a backup of my HS config (the ZIP file). What's unclear, is how to transfer the Z-Wave interface settings from the internal Pi HAT now in use, to the Smartstick+ that will be used in the new Pi 4, or if this can even be done at all?
Under HS Plugins-->Z-Wave-->Controller Management, there are commands to "Send network information to another controller and make it primary", or to "Backup this interface" and "Restore a network to this interface".
SO: what's the simplest/most direct way to do this? Should I first install the Smartstick+ in the existing Zee 3 along with the existing Z-Wave HAT, then do the "Send network information to another controller and make it primary" procedure, then remove the Smartstick+, install it in the new RP4, with a fresh image of HS and restore the HS config files? Or, some other method? Thanks!
