    OverClock your Zee

    Goofing around today...not sure if this will work...but giving it a try...

    Running raspi-config....

    Note: if you do this and break your Zee; do not blame me nor try to return your Zee as it will void your warranty.

    Works on reboot.

    root@HomeTrollerZEE:~# vcgencmd get_config arm_freq
    arm_freq=900

    I wanted to see it clock at 900Mhz so I installed the RPIMonitor program opened up two browser windows and started to do stuff with HS3 for the Zee.

      Temps have remained the same as above. Added one script plugin to HS3 with a regular event ever 15 minutes. Clock speed now staying at 900Mhz.

      Browser access is a bit slow but works. I prefer Firefox over Chrome buts a tad slower than Chrome. Fastest browser access appears to be with Opera. Note that this is related to Wintel. Using Linux browsers; they are all fast; no lags.

      Reading some stuff relating to the overclocking. It seems that you can "push" the temps to 85C but recommendations relate to using a small heatsink on CPU. Another thing mentioned was the failure of the power port (mini USB) and replacing it with just soldered wires. SD card failures was also mentioned (along with some methodology of backing up the SD card regularly). This noted someone did write a little procedure such that you could boot from the SD card partition and run the OS on an SSD USB drive which would help a bit.

        Have a few small 16Gb ZIF SSD drives which can be connected to a USB to ZIF board which will provide me with an SSD OS base. I am doing this today with the Seagate Dockstar (but its booting from the SSD). That said a small capacity SD card would just be required for the booting partition and the SSD drive would be utilized for the OS partition.
