monitor questions

I need to adapt the video to DVI or VGA. I checked for adapters, and noticed that some are 'active' and 'passive'. (Maybe that refers to powered and non-powered?) So, are there any caveats for this?

Does the ZeeS2 do DPMS?
I.e. can it put the monitor into a power-saving mode?
This is just so I don't have to turn the monitor on and off.

I thought that it needed its own display. But, now that I have the unit, I see that it's accessed thru a browser.

The KVM (keyboard, video, mouse) switch allows you to connect 4 computers to one Video, Keyboard/mouse Mine also switches the Audio connections
