I'd like to see if I can use cascading events (one event referring action to another event, while honoring the second event's conditions).
As per this thread:

I want to to use IFTTT as one of the triggers for an event. The other triggers are night and that a given switch is off.
So what I did is create a virtual switch. IFTTT turns this switch on. Then there are two events: One that will turn the virtual switch back off (Like a virtual Useless machine https://www.makershed.com/products/t...ering-required)
The other event has three and triggers: The virtual switch, it's nighttime and a light is off.
So as per the previous discussion, it was suggested that instead of the virtual device, IFTTT can trigger an event that triggers the last event. The problem is that when one event triggers the second, all the conditions for the second event are ignored.
How can I do the same without the virtual device?
