    Use of NEVER

    I have event below
The timer runs 0-8 hours continually and so decrements the counter every 8 hours.
I naively thought that if I used the NEVER condition as shown the counter would not be decremented below zero.
However decrementing to -1, -2 etc happens.
Can someone explain what I am missing in my understanding of the use of NEVER please
    IF Rain's value becomes 8h, 0m, 0s

AND IF Tunnel Rain Sensor has become this absolute value: 1

Then Decrement counter Rain Volume by 1

Never Reset counter Rain Volume to value -1

I would suggest looking at the Event Clinic Table of Contents. Most topics are covered and I welcome suggestions as to anything that is missed or needs further explanation.

NEVER is a very poor descriptor ... it should be removed and a proper way to do this (like a simply checkbox to disable/bypass a line in the event) should exist. Its one of the 'uniqueness' of Homeseer. You're in for many many more inconsistencies and non-intuitive usages. The saving grace is that once you have it setup, it works - and works well.
