    Variable condition event

Is there a way to create an event based on dynamic values? I'm trying to create an event when the outdoor temp becomes higher than indoor temperature with a condition (windows open) but not sure if the event manager can handle this.

You cannot do it with native HS event triggers, but you can with the Easy Trigger plug-in. It isn't free, but well worth the cost.
(IMHO it is the most useful plug-in available for HS and I highly recommend it.)

Another option would be to trigger a reoccurring event that runs a script to do the comparison you seek and have the script trigger the resulting actions (or trigger another event). If you're into doing scripty stuff, that is....

I agree, Easy Trigger is a must have plugin

I use EasyTrigger and do a similar event. I recently had my AC compressor starting capacitor fail. House was hot when i returned home.

Now I have an event that compares thermostat setpoint with actually indoor temp and alerts me if they get more than 5 degrees different.
