Do you have any *outside* motion sensors? I've heard that results are not too bad, but I'd like to do that too. Outside, as well as inside, would be for motion detection and outside lighting rather than alarming based on detection.
If you have outside motion sensors, what type (make, model) did you get and are you happy with performance? I have the 2 sides of my home (just over 5 feet wide) and one is 24' while the other side of the house is 34'. So a sensor attached to the siding (roof is too high at the back - downward slope to yard) to get it under the eave, so it would be exposed to direct elements (rain, snow, etc.).
I will have some type of security system installed for self-monitoring, but I expect it will be mostly for perimeter security rather than call center monitored.
What is a DCS Security system? Is it an alarm or some type of a collector system for motion sensor home runs? One question I had around that was how you could put so many motion sensors so they can be monitored independently.
Any overall advice to enhancing this in my home?
