I think I posted this originally in the wrong forum, so reposting here:
My understanding is that the replacement variable $from, according to the help guide, will substitute the email address from the last received email.
It does not seem to work. It seems to always return a value of "unknown".
I have HS3 set to receive an email, then turn around and send an email back to the same person by putting $from in the TO: line of the outgoing email. It doesn't work, shows errors in the log about invalid email addresses.
As a test, I put the $from as a variable in the body of the outgoing email just to see what it will do. The outgoing email always comes back with "unknown" as the output of the $from variable.
Is this a known issue?
Also, another question... Is there a way to allow multiple email addresses in the TO: or FROM: line of an incoming or outgoing email? I dont want to have to use the "Anyone" checkbox when two email addresses is all I care about.
Thanks in advance!
