Problem with Evolve LTM-5 Wall Transmitter

I'm having a problem using the LTM-5. I've created two events to turn the lights on and off in the Conversation Pit. The off event turn off both lights and the on event turns on the ceiling light but leaves the sconces in what ever state they were in.

When I manually run the two events everything works fine and in fact the LTM-5s light turns on and off as needed.

The problem comes in when I hit the paddle on the LTM-5, nothing happens and I don't see anything in the logs.

I've done this with my VeraLite without out any issues. The VeraLite just captured the transmission from the LTM-5 and then ran the event since the Vera was associated with the Vera. So basically I figure I'm just not setting this up correctly so that HS is getting the message.

Although I'm running the Zee S2 I think this is a general issue so I posted here.

Well, I think I've got it. I needed to create two scenes, I used 1 & 255, on HS without any devices attached but with HScheck box set. It seems that was all that was needed. I suspect this just added the Zee S2 to the scene in the switch so it would transmit information to the Zee S2.

This seems to be a bandaid.

I've been reading and rereading the docs when it comes to scene control and how all of this works. It's my understanding that since the LTM-5 is a two button scene controller I should see the scene section settings when looking at the ZWave tab.

So I'm still confused oh how to use scene controllers on HS.

see if this thread helps at all. I would say if you have things working as expected thats always a win even if it's not by the book :P

ad some good information but not quite what I was looking for.

I just started digging and tried multiple settings and I think I've figured it out for the LTM-5 without using any scenes.

The trick is forcing an association with HS. It would do that if I played with scenes but I also found that you can force it in the ZWave menu for the switch its self without using any scenes. I did have to click on the Update button to get the information to show up but then I just had to ad HS to Group 1 and now everything works.

Turns out this is much like the way it's done in Vera. You have to get the association set so that HS will see the button presses and then act on them using normal event setups.

Still it's strange that a full 5 scene controller has on of the scene setups but the 2 scene LTM-5 doesn't, at least not the same way. Guess it's how they setup the template for the LTM-5.

One thing I did notice is that once you use the LTM-5 to turn on an event it wouldn't trip that event again until it was turned off. So if you manually change a dimmer you couldn't just hit the LTM-5 to bring it back.

Well, that turned out to be the type of trigger I used. I originally used "this device changes and becomes" rather than "This device had its value set to". The former only seems to change if the device actually changes but the second will trigger overtime the device button it tapped even if it didn't change. That was definitely different that Vera but understandable.

One thing I like is that I can do so much more without having to add plugins like I did with Vera. Very nice, very nice indeed.
