Issues with sorting on the devices page

This has been around for the last year I've been using HS3. When you sort by say "Room" not all of the Room devices are kept together. I've found NO rime or reason as to yet all of the rooms don't stay together. My thinking is that when sorting on "Room" that should be the primary sorting field followed "Name". I don't care about "Floor" and in fact I'd like to be able to leave it out.

Better yet, I'd like a "Real" sort function when we can select each level of the sort and which field to sort on and if it's sending or descending and being able to leave fields out completely.

Here is an example of the sorting error. I'm sorted by room but Office and Office Controls are intermixed. This is a simple one but I've seen much worse sorts. I'd also like to see the names sorted in order within the Room.

If you ungroup them by clicking on at the upper right of the Device Manager it will become which displays the devices ungrouped. Because "grouped" devices sort on the root, a filtered display of an incomplete group can appear random.

I could understand that except that the only device that was in a group, "fan light", sorted correctly and the virtual device that wasn't in a group, "both desk lights", is the one that sorted in the wrong place.

Yes, no change, the virtual device still sorts out of order.

            I've never seen that behavior.

Have you tried toggling between sort directions to see if the order remains consistently incorrect?
If you open the Device Configuration tab for the devices that are sorting out of order (or one sorting correctly, for that matter), and you re-select the Room designation, does that have any effect?

Is "filter by location" selected on the setup custom page? Unselect it. Also ungroup them.

Just tried it for both floor and room and no change. Note to self: change Floor to something else.

Yes, and I've tried it both ways with the same results.

I've displayed Ref, Address and Type and see nothing there that might account for this.

Something is just bugging up the sort and it's got to be something we can't see.
