    How does one wipe out an invalid HS3 database?

    There should be a file called HomeSeerData.hsd in HS Data subfolder. With HS shutdown, you can delete it. There should be similarly named files in the same folder that are backups of the database. If you think one of them is good, you can rename it to HomeSeerData.hsd and then start HS.
