Have I really been burned by Homeseer more than any other product or service?

I use BLBackup and other methods but I also just make a backup copy of the entire HS3 directory on a regular basis and always before doing anything critical like an upgrade. Takes less than a minute to get back to where I was if there is a snag.

Unhappy as well. Today is the second time in the last year or so HomeSeer has trashed it's configuration, after update this time. I'm not sure if there was an update last time or not.. Yes, I have backups, but lost a few tweaks. Definitely have turned off "check for update on restart" from here on out.

If this is such a frequent problem, perhaps update could do a backup before it runs?

Anyhow, I need a system that will go years where the worst thing you have to do to recover is a reboot.

I do backups manually only when I change configuration, and I save backups in OneDrive
