    How to troubleshoot slow responses

I have started having problems with VERY slow triggering - for example
Nov-03 16:00:30 Event Event Trigger "Office Bookcase ON"
    Nov-03 15:57:14 Z-Wave Device: Office PIR - Sensor Sensor Set to On/Open/Motion
That's over two minutes to trigger after the PIR motion.

Does anyone have a step by step how to get to the bottom of this?

It's not z-wave because the light came on immediately..

    Cheers
    Scott

What OS are you running? What type of "load" is on your HS box? If a taxing load on it, it may possibly be longer in the processing?
My HS box was not "overloaded". I would rarely see spikes maxing it out. I just upgraded my HS Box and It does seem faster even at heavy load time.

Might help if you posted your system info from your help page. I would start by restarting (if you haven't done so already) and then disabling any other plugins besides the z-wave one.

        Sorry, forgot to do that!

I think it started after the upgrade of Win10 to 1903 ....

In that case, have you tried rolling back to the prior version?

Not yet. My next move is to build a new box and see if it's related to the hardware, if not, I'll go back to 1803, but I doubt if that's the problem - all the Win10 users would be shouting by now

I've seen a number of instances where things don't behave consistently from one install to another and my take is that it is .NET related. My HS system has a handle leak that few others seem to have and I blame .NET for it as well. All the HS users would be shouting if it was a generic HS issue

OK. I replaced my HS box with a totally dedicated, nothing else on it, Windows 10 Pro setup and still have a problem

                This is typical but intermittent:
2019-11-25 20:27:03 Event Event Trigger "Kitchen Lights Lights ON PIR"
2019-11-25 20:27:03 Device Control Device: Kitchen Light Light to On (255)
2019-11-25 20:27:03 Event Event Trigger "Kitchen Lights Lights ON PIR"
2019-11-25 20:23:07 Z-Wave Device: Kitchen Right PIR - Sensor Sensor Set to On/Open/Motion
2019-11-25 20:23:03 Z-Wave Device: Kitchen Left PIR - Sensor Sensor Set to On/Open/Motion
That's 4 MINUTES from PIR to event. Once the event triggers, the z-wave is instant.

Where do I start? Any help appreciated

                Cheers
                Scott

Hi Sparkman. I don't believe it is a generic problem with HS, but I need some help from those in the know how to pinpoint the problem. If it is .Net, is there a preferred version?

Hi Scott, I would contact HS support. There may be some debug options that can see where the system is "stuck" for that period of time.

                    Cheers
