    This may sound basic, but, have you tried to stop and restart the plugin? I ask because I couldn't get it to work for the life of me. I checked settings over and over again. A restart fixed everything. It started working immediately.

            OK well if you are downloading the list of sounds then now your application key is at least correct - I will send you an email as I think I will need to try your config file as I am not sure what is up.

                            Go into the config page in the plugin, put in a device name for your wife and put in her device key, press add device. When you go into your event actions you should have your wife in the drop down devices list, all clients should send to both.

                                Bad request sometimes means the key is wrong, I would suggest going into the config page putting the device name in and pressing remove. It should then remove it from the list below, re-add it and then try again see what happens.
