    z-wave --> set configuration parameters --> help

    Hi,

    I have a z-wave device where i can set additional z-wave parameters.

    I know parameter number = 7.
    Value size is 4 bytes.
    Configuration value --> is this in decimal or hex? Nothing seems to work. I know the hex value of the 4 byte parameter should be this: 0x053c0541. I tried using hex and nothing. I tried to covert to decimal = 87819585 and also nothing. What am I missing?

    Is there a way to read a parameter back, to see the current value?

    There are also no logs to help me.

    Thank you.

    Tink told me there was no way to read what was already set. I am going to set up a spa unit only on my laptop and see what I can find out

    * * * * * *
    "The parameter value must be in decimal - 0x is not understood for the text box. 0x05 = 5 so just enter 5."

      I think this has to be done in separate pieces

        I found if you select Parameter value number and leave configuration value field blank and then press SET, it populates the configuration value with current value within the device.
        I've had issues with Fibaro devices not accepting configuration values. See http://homeseer.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1366
        Hope that helps. John.

          Awesome that we have to guess and reverse engineer a product feature, instead of reading a user manual. Is there one? Maybe I just don't know about it.

              So seriously, nobody knows how to use this feature? How about somebody from Homeseer? Point me to a doc or something? Somebody built it, must have somebody who knows how it was meant to be used?

              I need to set a 4 byte value. I know the hex value i need to send. I convert to decimal and set it. Always comes back as -1. What am I doing wrong?

              Thanks.

                  Hi,

                  Once again, could somebody from Homeseer please explain how to use this product feature? in particular the detailed questions raised in this thread?

                  Thank you.

                    I am also curious about the way how to check device parameters values without setting/changing?

                      In the Z-Wave tab>Settings>Set Configuration Parameters, pick the parameter number you want to read, make sure the value is blank (not 0) and click "Set". It will return the current value.

                          Does not work in HS4. Any update?
                          Thanks!

                            It works exactly the same in HS4 as HS3 for me!

                              Git it! Had to enter a space in the value for the param. Thanks! Wish there was a way to list out all of the available params for a device and their settings.
