How strange - the fact it appears in () also points to it coming from the database as a negative value because when I put the string into the currency format it is representing it as a negative number.

Could you zip up your cc.db3 (in the root HS path) and send it to me? Attach it to a post here if you're OK with it (no personal data in it) or send it via email and I'll have a look. I can change it in the DB but would need to check whether or not when new data arrives it gets overridden.

So I downloaded a SQLLite DB. This allowed me to open the DB and change the negative values. Weird how it was a negative value!

Yes I had a look and was going to change the values for you, it is odd why these two are negative values out of all of the positive ones. The data should be downloaded every couple of hours into the database so keep an eye out whether or not they re-appear. If so I'll put a line in the code that it is always a positive number.

It's reverted back to negative? After I made the change, I verified all the values through the plugin. Now today they are back to negative! I'm going to update them again and see if it happens again.

Yeah I feared this, what it is is the data in that history table is updated from the Current Cost device every couple of hours. As such any changes would only be temporary (it was worth just seeing if changing it solved it though) - as such it must be coming from the hardware with a negative value. Not something I've seen before and I've been messing with the Current Cost hardware the best part of 10 years now.

That said I can make a change to the plugin if it finds a negative number to make it positive - although I can't easily test it, can you try this version please? Just replace your exe file and restart HS. If it works I'll put it in the updater.

You were correct, it came back!. I copied the new EXE in a restarted. The negative values still appeared. So I went back in and did another edit on the data. I will let you know tomorrow how it goes.

I wanted to report back that everything looked good this morning. I'm not seeing any negative values.

Excellent thanks I'll put it in the updater and hopefully you don't see anything like this again, if you do let me know.

So I've now 'updated' with this driver:

And its now working it seems.

                      Thanks for your help.
I'm about to upgrade my server from Win2k3 to Win2k16. Does anyone know if this driver works with 2016 Server or can someone recommend the proper drivers please? It is Prolific drivers that CCE uses right and not FTDI right? It's been so long since I installed this thing...

I just wanted to confirm that these drivers also work with Windows Server 2016.

Thanks VMark for doing all the leg work.

I didn't include this in the HS3 plugin, it was always a bit difficult in terms of working in HS2 that I remember. I am afraid if you need this functionality you would probably need to look at the HS Current Cost plugin as this potentially has this functionality in it.

That's unfortunate (it has been some time since I tried it) and development of that plugin seems to have stopped, I am afraid for the limited (you are the first to ask I think) demand for this does not justify the time it would take to develop and add it to the plugin. You could however look at calling the cc.db3 file directly from a script and making your own cost calculations, I don't however have an example script you could try.
