Can Event tell if this switch was turned off manually or by another Event?

You would need to use a virtual device in conjunction with it. In your events that control the switch, you would also control the virtual device. If you manually control the switch, then the virtual device would not get updated and then you can use the status of the virtual device as a condition in other events.
