    remote access using DDNS (no-ip.com)

    HS3 and HomeTroller:

I would like to use the no-ip.com DDNS service for remote access to my HS.

Are their any instructions as to how to set up HS and router to use somethiing like no-ip?

Thanks in advance - I know this is the place for direction.

Unfortunately things like this depend a lot on the type of router you have, basically if you have your HS web server on port 84 then ensure that port 84 is mapped so it is accessible externally through your router. You may need to consult the documentation for this if the options are not immediately apparent.

When you sign up to No-IP it should find your IP address automatically, I had to wait a couple of minutes and then it was accessible via the No-IP address. If not in the No-IP control panel put the external IP address of your HS system and you should be good to go.

Here our Asus router supplies a free DDNS service. We use that on all our devices to connect to HS Touch. Port forwarding is easy with the router. I keep the server on port 80, so if I'm at work I can still access HS server through MYHS
