    Why Doesn't this Counter Work?

I have set up a counter in a simple sprinkler event to give me easy control over the frequency of irrigation. The event looks like this:

    IF Time: 6:00 AM
AND IF: Sprinkler Program has a value equal to Regular Program Enabled
AND IF: Sprinkler Interval value has become this or a multiple of this: 3
THEN: Set Device Sprinkler System Status to Run Regular Program

However, the event will not trigger the sprinkler when all the conditions are met. However, if I remove the counter condition, it triggers everyday at 6:00 AM. Any idea what's wrong?

Are you using the device created for the counter in the event, or the counter itself? From what I understand, the devices created by counters and timers are there for display purposes, but can't be used for triggers or conditions.

    Cheers

Hi Al, I selected the Counter option, not the Device option, in the statement.

I actually posted the event as I have re-entered it, with the Time statement first; I previously had the Counter statement first. It worked in a test; lets see if it works at the scheduled time.

That was probably it. If you had the counter first as a trigger, it would have had to change to 3 at exactly 6:00AM. It would be virtually impossible to have both happen at exactly the same time.

Sprinklers? In winter? Wouldn't have counters or anything.

Just kidding. Turned off our sprinklers about a month ago.
