  • Error Examining properties on plugin

    Hi,

Could someone provide me with more info regarding this error message that appears when my plugin is loaded ?
    Code:
Examining properties on plugin (2) HSPI_SurveillanceStation.exe: Object reference not set to an instance of an object
    thx in advance !

In a nutshell, you tried to reference something in an object without 'New'ing it first.

You should wrap some Try/Catch statements around your code so the plugin doesnt crash. This is also useful for setting breakpoints during debugging.

But this is even before the plugin is started ?
Furthermore I did add try/catch statements and extensive logging, but I don't think it gets that far.

It is query-ing the version numbers of all plugins.

If I double click the executable in windows explorer, everything is working fine.

Ah, then you'll probably need to compare all of the methods and properties of your plugin with the sample plugin. It might be something as simple as misspelled implementation name.

I found the issue: my plugin did not have a default constructor.
