I tried 3.0.0.94 with Z-Wave 3.0.0.151. The Z-Wave plug-in would not start (See below log messages). The last Z-Wave plug-in that I could run was 3.0.0.109 and it did not run well. Also with 3.0.0.94 I did not hear "Welcome to HomeSeer" message. I tried deleting all of the Z-Wave files and folders prior to the tar but that did not help.

Same ZWave errors after upgrade from .84 zwave .109

Same ZWave errors here after upgrade from .83 and zwave plugin version .109

By copying files I was able to get 3.0.0.94 up and running with Z-Wave 3.0.0.64. Wish I could get the latest Z-Wave plug-in to run.

Did you try to load the Linux ZW plugin from the updater, or did you run the one that was included in the archive? Or, did you try to run just the one that was in the archive? I am wondering if one of those installs is not correct.

              Hi Rich,

I tried both the .tar install and installing from the updater with HS3 3.0.0.94. I am now in the process of creating an ISO for Debian 7.5.0 and will install on my spare machine for testing. This will not work for my final solution, but thought that I could do some testing on Debian. I researched MONO all afternoon and decided to apt-get install mono-complete just to make sure that I have all libraries. It did not help my UBUNTU installation. It just seems that you have something on your development system that is missing on ours. Something changed after 3.0.0.109 that caused my UBUNTU to fail. BTW I can just copy the ZWave.exe to change from .150 to .64 and return the system to operational status. On a side note, I have not been able to login to my system through myHomeSeer.com all day. I unchecked and rechecked the box, restarted HS3 and stood on my Head, would not work. It kept saying that my system must not be running. Oh Well. Hope to play with Debian before the night is over, 10 min left on ISO burn.

              Bob

Well I installed Debian 7.5 and the required mono files, downloaded the HS3 tar.gz, copied the hs3 and z-wave db to the Debian machine along with the .ini files. The system started and ran with HS3 3.0.0.94 and Z-Wave 3.0.0.151 without a problem.

So now the question is, what is missing from UBUNTU that is causing the API error. I understand that the error is coming from MONO but unless it is a version problem I do not know what could be missing. Debian also used mono version 2.10.8.1 like UBUNTU. Will have to sleep on it.

tried the updater (beta plugins), no success

                  I tried the following

installed from scratch version 3.0.0.84 with z-wave .109, imported Z-wave node, no problems
when I upgrade to version .94 / .150 (using tar xvf overwriting existing binaries)
                  I get the Z-Wave errors
                  Code:
Z-Wave Error Z-Wave Queue Proc experienced error 0, A type load exception has occurred. Line: 0 May-14 3:55:04 PM Z-Wave Error Exception in Network_Check_Change checking for ISet APIs to be added to clsZWave. Ex=A type load exception has occurred. May-14 3:55:04 PM Z-Wave Error Z-Wave Queue Proc experienced error 0, A type load exception has occurred. Line: 0 May-14 3:55:04 PM Z-Wave Error Z-Wave Queue Proc experienced error 0, A type load exception has occurred. Line: 0
the same errors I get when I use the beta updater for the Z-Wave plugin for version .84 and version .94 I think it is installer related because I noticed the files in the Updater Zips are different.

For version 94, I upgraded (tar xvf) and then reverted Z-Wave .109 back using restoring
the files HSPI_Zwave.exe, HSPI_Zwave.exe.config and the bin/Z-Wave folder
I rather not prefer to install from scratch and reimport the node because it takes a lot of time of rescanning devices and editing events (although I understand it is still beta)

                  I'm using debian 7.5 and ubuntu 13.10

                    Hi Zigmund,

So are you having problems with your Debian 7.5 system? Debian worked fine for me but it was a virgin system with only the OS and HS3 installed. The more that I research this issue the more that it looks like a mono compiler switch that is/is not set for either the architecture (32 vs 64 bit) or cpu (x86, x86-64, sparc, ppc, s390, s390x, arm, mips, alpha, hppa, ia64). It does appear that the issue surrounds the opening or reading of the ttyusb port. My question is what changed after .109.

                      another try, still no success

now that Bob was successfull in installing .151 I tried the following:

saved the hs3 config by using the backup config function
(don't know why I did not try this earlier)
removed all the files in /usr/local/HomeSeer
                      installed .94 using tar xvf
start hs3, restored the backup config
still I have these endless repeating errors:
                      Code:
Z-Wave Error Z-Wave Queue Proc experienced error 0, A type load exception has occurred. Line: 0

I tried to install from scratch version .94/.151 on ubuntu 13.10 and restored the hs3 config.
did not connect the Z-Wave stick, do I need to connect the controller?
No Z-Wave errors (except warning about not finding controller)
for debian 7.5 I used a minimum network install. on vmware, no desktop, just installed the required mono packages for hs3.

You are correct about the differences in the .109 and the .151 tar install files. I did an untar with the output directed to a file on both and performed a diff on the two files. The .151 has several additional dll files and also the Bin folder.

I did not get the error on my UBUNTU system until I configured my Z-Wave controller to the ttyUSB0 port. Then the configuration screen failed and I get API errors in the log.

On the Debian installation I did an apt-get install mono-complete but I also had to do the apt-get install mono-vbnc. This worked for me and the controller configured properly. I could control devices. The only errors that I got was from scripts that were missing from some weather events that I had configured.
