The support is pretty simple, actually. You can edit a device and give only a specific set of users access. When you do this and that user logs in, he/she will only see the devices they have access to. This propagates to HSTouch, so the HSTouch plugin only sees the devices that the HSTouch user has access to. Its as if the other devices do not even exists.

As for IFTTT, that uses the local user as we do not pass through the IFTTT user, so they will see all devices that the local user has access to. So you could limit IFTTT access also by changing the local user to a Normal user and then limiting the devices that the user has access to. Otherwise, if the local user is an Admin user, the IFTTT user will get access to all the devices. We hope to eventually propagate the user throught IFTTT so access can be controlled in the same manner.

Maybe someone have tried. I have users that have to have access because of IFTTT. But can i now limit the use in the web but still let IFTTT work? I'm a bit confused on what needs what here.

I'm on 197. I've recently moved my HS installation to a new machine that was subsequently upgraded to Windows 10. I've only tried to do this in the last two days, so I don't know with which change it started.

On the Device Management page, I click on the name of a device, and the Configuration/Advanced/Status Graphics/etc page comes up. I click on "Select Device Image", and the select device image box comes up for a split second and then the page reloads, so I'm unable to change anything. This is happening under both 64 bit Chrome and MS Edge. It might be happening elsewhere in HS3, but it was late when I was working with it, and I can't seem to find any other instances right now.

Doesn't happen under Advanced/"Select Thumbnail Image" - that's working properly.

Has anyone else see this? Any ideas on how to fix it?

This is being posted as a Beta for testing to ensure that there are no upgrade issues. Please give this a try and give some feedback if you see any issues.

Version 3.0.0.197 adds some new features to limit access to HomeSeer based on the user. For example, you can assign user Joe to only have access to devices in the kitchen.

There is a new setting in the device properties that allows you to assign a user who can access that device. The options are:

username
Any

Admin users always have access to all devices.

On the Network tab where the users are defined, there are new options for "Normal" users. They can be given access to specific pages using the checkboxes. By default, a Normal user has access to all the pages listed. However, Normal users do not have access to setup, this is change. Most likely most users are currently using HomeSeer with an Admin user.

The only possible issue with this update is if you are accessing your HS system as a Normal user and you do not know the Admin password. With this update, you will not have access to Setup.

The user access carries over to HSTouch, to limit device access in HSTouch clients, install the 3.0.0.71 or later HSTouch Server plugin, it is in the Beta section of the updater. Note that this plugin requires HS3 version 3.0.0.197 or later and will not install or function with previous versions.

For Zee, Zee S2, and SEL, use the manual update method to get 3.0.0.197.

Thats good. It would be good to be able to limit what events by example an IFTTT user have access to use with IFTTT by example.

Hi Jim,

Not sure if you did a Bugzilla on this but I just experienced the same thing and put in Bugzilla #2918 for this issue. I did not upgrade to Windows 10 and still have Windows 8.1 so it is unrelated to the Windows 10 Upgrade you did at least.

That could be the same as reported on errors in deviceutility above (post #17). I tried to look at the report and follow it but I am not authorized. Are we supposed to open a new report when we think it's the same and not follow? That would not seem to be effective.

I just experienced the same thing and put in Bugzilla #2918 for this issue.

Having the same problem with trying to edit the image (thumbnail no issue under advanced) using Chrome v44.0.2403.130. The only difference is upgrading to .197. No way to add to the existing bugzilla.

So several .197 users reported the same issue. I'm on .194 and don't experience that issue. So it would point to a .197 flaw.

You also can't add a new location 1 or location 2 item. In my case, I've renamed them to Room and Category respectively under Tools->Setup->Custom
