    Hi Rich,

I just noticed the beta for security features. As I am one of those who requested a more robust access management framework, I will install this tonight, and begin testing it. Thanks.

    Hello,

Does this build address the issue preventing more than one simultaneous connection to the JSON/ASCII port 11000?

    Thanks.

That is very much the same as I was reporting above. I can also add that I updated from 3.0.0.194 to 3.0.0.197 again and the problem immediately resurfaced. Going to the 3.0.0.194 backup and HSTouch becomes responsive. The problem is repeatable. Since HSTouch 3.0.0.71 installs automatically with the update, I'm not certain which component causes the problem. I suppose I could keep 194 and update to the beta HSTouch plug-in, but for now I am going to stick with 3.0.0.194 and 3.0.0.69. If I have time later I may try the HSTouch plug-in by itself.

I switched to Windows 10 on the 29th, then to 3.0.0.197 and HSTouch 3.0.0.71 yesterday. I had all kinds of problems with both my iOS and Android HSTouch devices. They were sluggish and unresponsive last night. Not knowing whether the problem was with the O/S or with the HS3 update, I rolled back to the 3.0.0.194 backup from yesterday. So far all of the HSTouch clients are working normally now. I may try the update again this weekend after the dust settles on the Windows 10 upgrade.

The .71 HSTouch Server plugin is using some new API calls that do not exist in previous versions of HS. I was hoping I could trap the errors and still allow it to function, but I see it is not. I will look into that. If I cannot make it work, the plugin will be set to require HS .197 or later. Right now, that is a requirement if you want to try the .71 HSTouch Plugin.

with hstouch 71. i get several errors in the log. and cant connect anymore. The hstouch clients startup but all values in my hstouch screens stay empty.

    Code:
    jul-31 9:19:51 HSTouch Server ERROR	Exception in HandleRcvCommandQ(1):Method not found: 'System.Object HomeSeerAPI.IHSApplication.GetDeviceEnumeratorUser(System.String)'.: at HSPI_HSTOUCH.Module1.GetDeviceEnumerator(String user) at HSPI_HSTOUCH.HSTServer.EnergyCommand_GetAll(Command_Data Command_Args) at HSPI_HSTOUCH.HSTServer.HandleRcvCommandQ(Command_Data Command_Args, ClientConnection& sender)
jul-31 9:19:51 HSTouch Server	Error getting devices, do you have more than one device added to HomeSeer?

any thoughts? still on 194 but downgraded hstouch to 68, and hstouch works as expected again.

Version 3.0.0.197 adds some new features to limit access to HomeSeer based on the user. For example, you can assign user Joe to only have access to devices in the kitchen.

There is a new setting in the device properties that allows you to assign a user who can access that device. The options are:

    username
    Any

Admin users always have access to all devices.

On the Network tab where the users are defined, there are new options for "Normal" users. They can be given access to specific pages using the checkboxes. By default, a Normal user has access to all the pages listed. However, Normal users do not have access to setup, this is change. Most likely most users are currently using HomeSeer with an Admin user.

The only possible issue with this update is if you are accessing your HS system as a Normal user and you do not know the Admin password. With this update, you will not have access to Setup.

    Build 197 is here:

    http://homeseer.com/updates3/SetupHS3_3_0_0_197.exe

The user access carries over to HSTouch, to limit device access in HSTouch clients, install the 3.0.0.71 HSTouch Server plugin, it is in the Beta section of the updater.
They both are installed and working fine. I see no immediate issues. I also see the user choices. I will have to play with that, because I have only two users and they are both administrators. I added a guest user account and now I have choices on the few lighting devices I checked. I'll add some more users and play some more later.

For Zee, Zee S2, and SEL, use the manual update method to get 3.0.0.197.
