    Status Tracking with RSS Feed from weather bug

    Hi All,

    I seem to have a problem with displaying the information from my RSS feed into HSTouch. I followed the guide on this forum and followed the youtube guide (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thet2z6TPOk) but it's not working. The temperature (i selected this) is not being displayed.

    Please check the images below what maybe wrong with my settings. Just poiting out that I selected the column where it says 3,0. The only reason the cell next to it is blue is for taking the screenshots.

    Does it still behave the same when you launch the client vs. show it in the designer? Also do you get any errors in the HS log that may say it cannot find the feed?

      Connected the client on the desktop, see the picture below. The client/screen still says only TEXT.

      Found 1 mention in the logs about rss and this is the following

      20-2-2013 22:42:05 - HSTouch Server - RSS watch thread started. Update interval is 30 Minute(s).
      Is this normal?

        It is a normal entry but IMHO a bit on the high side. It means that the data is only downloaded every 30 minutes which might explain why you have no data, you would have to have the client running either at startup when the thread starts or for 30 minutes before you get anything.

        Open up your hspi_HSTouch.ini file and under the settings key add

        RSSUpdateInterval=1

        for one minute updates. It comes with a warning IIRC in the help file that some services do not allow a large number of downloads as it may be against their terms of use.

        You will need to restart the HSTouch server plugin for this to take effect.

          Thanks for the help, only it did not change anything. But curious as I was I tried something else. I added another RSS Stream to this screen and this stream WORKS!

          Maybe the Weatherbug rss feed is the variable in this whole story?

            Thanks

            Different issue, but same solution. Searched for how to change RSS update interval, found multiple answers, but yours was the correct one. Thanks
