How do you extend the pointer image to be wider then the slider as shown in the image

Hopefully I have understood what you are asking...
The slider is made up of 2 components the slider "button" and the "background". The button will match the width of the background hence in the sample slider it matches. To do what I think you are asking you could modify the background png image to be slightly larger with transparency on either side. Attached is a version I've done this for you on. -
Yes that's a good idea too.
I basically did something similar. Used 2 sliders stacked on top of each other.
1. Locked to the back ground with no click function and no image for the slider. This one smaller.
2. A second one on top, with click enabled, larger slider button, and no image for the bg.Comment
