I had lights that automatically did come on when I opened a door and turned off when either the door was closed or a certain amount of time has passed. I used my DSC security sensors and a timer for this. Reading other threads it is my understanding the timer can now be eliminated. However, I want to add some additional functionality. My final goal is:
* If you open a door turn on the light
* If you close the door turn off the lights
* If the door has been open for x minutes then turn off the lights
* If the light was automatically turned off but you manually turn it back on within y seconds then disable the auto shut off
* If the auto shut off was engaged, disable it after z hours.
I had something close to that working some half a year ago but lost it when my HS system crashed. If I recall correctly, I did get rid of the timer but I had to create a virtual device and events to handle the 'prevent auto turn off'. Has somebody else done this and can share some screenshots how you implemented this?
