    Wow.
that’s great. I am sure it will happen to
me again and then I have something to try.
thank you sooo much for sharing this solution.
so I guess my HomeSeer stick has an issue.
i hope it doesn’t get too frequent.

thanks again, that’s of great help.

    Amazingly the fix was:
    1) Power down HS4
    2) Physically remote the Z-Wave USB stick
    3) Wait for 30 mins
    4) Physically insert the USB stick
    5) Restart HS4
This WORKS, thanks for sharing !

I guess there is something in the USB stick that needed clearing and the only way to clear it is to physically remove the device.

Hope this helps someone with the same issue.

I am SO happy I don't have to re-include all my devices and re-create all my rules.

Many thanks to the support team at Homeseer for this golden nugget.

Adding new didn’t work for me either.
The same for “remove bad node”.

we moved, so for me I just let it go the last few weeks and start now fresh again in the new place.

the first thing I will do is add two devices and then save the HomeSeer stick.
then I will do a factory “clean”’of the stuff co and see if I can actually restore the stick to get the two devices back.

at least it would know that I can get all the devices back should it happen again.

for some reason I never managed to restore the stick.

anyway, I hope the re-adding of the devices will give you control again.

i looked at the zwacke stick and there was no device registered???
The first time I managed somehow to restore the stick and went back to a copie of the HomeSeer folder.
the other two times I could not get to work and had to start fresh.
the feedback from the devices always worked. The outlets did report usage and all of that but no command would ever go thru to them.
pretty frustrating and I wonder if my zwave stick is defective.

check the log file if your devices as still reporting and check the zwave device itself if all notes are there.
i bet you the nodes are gone.
    Start fresh sounds horrible!!
I could try re adding a node and I will let you know.

    thanks for replying both…

One ZWave network is on a USB Smartstick+ and the other via a ZNet - it was all the devices on the ZNet that could not be controlled.

In my case I did not get an error - It changed the status on the Web page - but the device did not change state
Just restoring the old plugin did not work - Quicker to role back the VM :-)
If it ain't broke - don't fix it - I'm suspecting an issue with S2 as that has been the cause of a few strange behaviors that non-secure just worked

Status works if manually turning on/off. One of my 2 ZWave networks worked fine for HS control - the other did not. Tried it twice, same result.
When I get more time I'll spin up another clean install VM and test again
    Didn’t install ZWave Core
    I have plug in Z-Wave 3.2.0

Some more info... If I manually turn on a light, the corresponding HomeSeer device shows the correct status.
If I try to change the status from within Homeseer - it fails
"Failed sending Z-Wave command to device: {device}"

Latest release - no communication to Z-Wave devices

    I upgraded to 4.2.0.0 Windows
all seem fine for a few days then my Z-Wave devices no longer.

I tried a "Test Node Connectivity on a Network" in the Z-Wave Controller and got the following.

My battery powered z-wave window and door sensors all still work
    Any ideas out there?
