Aeotec multi sensor 7

Just got one of these ( have many gen 6 ones ). Can't seem to add it either in secure or non secure mode. Get the error

Error, the Add Node response object is null and a normal ending was not reported - Add Node Failed

Also, they don't seem to power off a POE splitter ( though gen 6 did ).
I've opened a support ticket with Aeotec on both these points
