    Yet another port problem :-(

    Hello, friends.

I'll start by saying that while this is my first post, the reason for that is I have self-served all over this forum and other sites to resolve my issues so I haven't needed to ask for help. Unfortunately, this time I am at a dead end.

I have been with HS since HS3 and migrated to HS4 as soon as it was available, so I am not a "newbie", but I certainly do not consider myself a pro. And I will say now, I know almost nothing about ports in Windows, so please excuse me in that regard.

Issue: Last month, starting HS4 started giving me port errors, but only after starting it when my PC was already running. HS4 stalls and does not actually start, so none of my automation events and device interactions run. This is what I get, and where HS4 stalls:

My Setup:To be sure, I have modified my regedit to boot HS4 with my computer, and when that happens, I have no port errors whatsoever.

This is the right time to tell you I have Blue Iris running on the same PC (I saw a few posts about HS4/BI conflicts) but BI is running on port 8090. I currently have my HS4 settings.ini file pointing to port 88 (after another HomeSeerer pointed to success!). Not for me though.

This PC is on a static IP address from the router. Here's the specs for my PC (hosting both HS4 and Blue Iris):

And yeah, I would probably have less issues with an HS-purchased system, but this was given to me for free. It boots on power (so HS4 starts if there's a power surge) and has an auto-restart function incase HS4 crashes, which happens from time-to-time. But the auto-reboot, and any HS4 boot when the PC is already on, is where I encounter the above port problems.

Here is my HS4 log from tonight:

FWIW, I bolded above where I think the problems are. I did check in Windows network settings and UPNP is enabled. Again, my HS4 port in the settings.ini file is 88. Here's Blue Iris:

My Ask:Where the heck am I going wrong? I think it is peculiar I only have these port issues when my PC has been running; when HS4 is started with boot, everything is fine (since my automation actually works!). I do have a lot of plug-ins but AFAIK they don't require their own port.

I've combed over countless posts from the past 8 years regarding port issues but can't seem to solve this. Would running HS4 as a service (since it is now available) help me here?

I love HS4 and I know this community of members is very passionate; I am hoping someone is able to point me in the right direction.

Thank you so very much for your time!
    Tyler

The errors in the log are consistent with HS3 running on the same PC at the same time. Check Task Manager to see if HS3 is still running.

      Nothing I can tell...

And I do not have any HS3 remnants on my computer, either in Program Files or Program Files (x86).

Thank you for your help!! Any other suggestions?
