Speak Something (Virtual Device Status)

I have created a virtual device that I can control with alexa to change the status. I am trying to create an event to Speak Something. I want it to speak the Status of the device. Is this the right syntax? $$DSAAddress): The only problem is my virtual device does not have an address associated with it. Is there a way to assign one or should I be going about this in a different way?

Use $$DSR and the device ref, all devices have a device reference number.
