I have the same task, there is a node that has lost connection with my z-wave controller. What should I do in this situation?

The Replace Node feature has a serious limitation. It is designed only to replace a device with the exact same model device. The process does not update any attributes of the device or update/change/add any child devices. If you want to replace an older device with a newer device, you’re out of luck. How often does a device actually break? Usually I just want to update a device and it’s not useful for that.

In HS3: Device/ ZWave Tab there is a "Replace Bad Node" button that will do what you want. Does HS4 not have this?

Replace Bad Node
I have a node that lost it's association with my z-wave controller. Hence, from HS' point of view this is a none responding node. I can remove it with "Remove Bad Node" but it's my understanding this will not only remove it from the z-wave stick but also remove the HS devices and break all the events that use that node. Is there a way to avoid "replace" a bad/non-communicating node?Tags: None
