Please tell me I didn't wipe my system!!

Hi all, have been having some power issues here and my battery back-up failed...right in the middle of starting up Homeseer. There was also an update notice that popped up and I (stupidly) clicked ok...so it was in the first few seconds of the update process when the power was cut. The power dropped a second or two after clicking "ok" or "install" (or whatever it said) that I didn't think it would have been past the download of the update to be messing with any of my config files.

Now when I start up Homeseer I don't get any devices...most of the plug ins appear to start by looking at the log, but the log shows an error for devices, events, and event groups config files. See below...the orange lines are the only errors that appear in the log. Any suggestions on what I should try from here? Thx in advance!

There's discussion in the thread below about what sounds to be your situation. This post, specifically, may be the fix.

Thanks, I tried to install the beta and my devices didn't come back. I think it might just be a coincidence that I had an issue with devices disappearing due to a power outage right as an upgrade was happening. Not sure it's related to the issue others are having with 4.2.18. I was on 4.2.17 before I installed the beta at 4.2.18.1 to try to bring my devices back, but not luck.

It doesn't appear I have any saved back-ups that Homeseer can find from the "Backup/Restore" menu under Tools. I do have another (older) copy of Homeseer on another hard drive on this computer that maybe I can use to salvage a relatively recent version of my configuration. I'll read around in the forum to see if I can find the definitive answer, but do I just need to copy the contents of the "Config" folder over or is there another folder/set of files I would need to copy over to restore? Thx again.

When I do manual backups and manually restore from such a backup I copy the whole HomeSeer HS4 folder. So lets say you have C:\Program Files (x86)\HomeSeer HS4. I then rename that to something like C:\Program Files (x86)\HomeSeer HS4_202300303_Broken and then I copy the HomeSeer HS4 folder I previously copied as a backup into C:\Program Files (x86)\. It probably works by just copying certain directories but I find this method just easier. Also, in case I did update HS4 then this also makes sure I also have the corresponding other files.

Thanks mulu, that sounds like a good way to make sure I get everything. Will give that a try.
