    That is a blast from the past. I haven't seen SNET referenced in decades - didn't know that name was still in use.

      Hahaha. SNET was my first dial-up ISP. 56Kbps only got 53Kbps over residential phone lines. Some SNET addresses are still in use. Some changed to ATT and others to SBCGlobal and even Yahoo.

        This got me to wondering if my original CompuServe email address from the late 1980's would still work; not the fancy new fangled address with alpha characters 😁, the original 9 octal digits address e.g.
        7XXX3.2XX7@compuserve.com
        circa 1988-89ish

        CompuServe got swallowed up by AOL long ago, but sure enough the old octal address still works!
