what kind of "address" did you put in the url field? this needs to be a http or https url, so your NAS needs to be able to serve your media files through a web server
also what kind of media is it? the chromecasts are not able to play all kind of medias
and the chromecast needs to be able to access directly the NAS (No firewall between the 2)Plugins: Nest - IFTTT - Kinect - UPB - Kodi - iTunes - Airplay Speak - EnvisaLink DSC / Ademco - DirecTV - Wiimote - Hyperion - Autelis - EasyTrigger - Alexa - Ecobee - Sinope - RaspberryIO - ImperiHome - Chromecast

I use a Squeezebox Server aka Logitech Media Server (LMS) to store the music. I added the Chromecast Bridge and can cast music via that to the Chromecasts and Home units.. I have not yet tried the Squeezebox plugin to connect it all to HomeSeer. I'm the only one who plays music from the LMS and the Squeeze Ctrl app (I'm on Android) works well for me.Karl S

On the off chance you're trying to cast a playlist file from your NAS, I can tell you from my own attempts that isn't possible. You should be able to cast any http(s) accessible media via the plugin alone, but only 1 file at a time, only a format the device supports, and not a playlist file. The casting device/app needs to manage the playlist if more than one file. I use VLC Media Player, programmatically, to cast my local music playlists, and TV tuner, via HomeSeer.HS4, Insteon, Z-wave, USB-UIRT, Google Hub/Chromecasts/Speakers, Foscam & Amcrest cameras, RCA HSDB2a doorbell
