Ring Alarm range extender - any info exposed by the API?

I have a few Ring range extender as part of my alarm system. They're basically Z-Wave repeater nodes (that plug into the wall). The Ring app doesn't show anything useful (such as which sensors are connected to it) but I was wondering if there's anything exposed by the API that this plug-in could show?

ID:	1634683 In HS3 with zwave plugin 3.0.11.0 it has a Heat Notification that looks like this:

It also has a battery for outages?

. I do not use ring hub or cloud.

There is quite a bit of data made available through the API. I don't see data (yet?) that has the concept of what route is used to communicate, but there is a matrix, which shows which node "sees" which nodes.

In the hub, there is a matrix which shows per "discovered" device, which neighbors each device has. Each device then publishes which nodes (repeaters & hub) it detected at what strength, but it doesn't show which node it actually uses.

Short of building a tool ala z-seer, not sure what we can do with it.

Ok, no worries, thanks for checking. I'd put in a feature request over on the Ring Community a while back about this (being able to see which devices are connected to an extender, signal strength, etc.) but it got removed at some point.

I recently bought a new house here in Belgium and went with Ring for my whole house alarm. So I now have to rely on z-wave a good bit, so I'll give it some effort because I have been frustrated over the years with the zwave in my house in California, and I don't want to see that with my alarm system.

So your stuff arrived and you're settling in? Good to hear!

windracer Just posted a new version.

There is now an option (button bottom of settings page) to display a list of z-wave devices and some info. Unfortunately, as always with Ring, while playing with it for a week or 2, I sometimes question how valid or stale this info is. I have 2 range extenders, and deliberately have one off-line, but Ring reports it has neighbors and link state and quality being OK. For a very few, ring reported a route from a device to the extender but provides no link-quality info and I'm not sure how much we can rely on that info. I also did some tests and put some devices far away but the RSSI reading doesn't seem to suggest issues, maybe the RSSI is more influenced by aggressors than distance. Also when I put a device out of reach it takes forever to go off-line (I guess to save battery, the device really only beacons out with very long periodicity). Anyhow I added a timestamp of last read status, if you see something that hasn't reported in for a long period, expect the rest of the info to be stale.
Good luck and share what you learn from it.

I also deprecated the "quality" feature for alarm devices, it is never updated so no need to clutter the HS devices (feature) list. The PI is not deleting the feature, but if you delete it, it won't come back.

Forget to mention that I also added support for the outdoor siren.

I'm not seeing a new button. Is it supposed to be below (or in) the "Various" section?

Is this referring to "Link Quality"? Because those seem to be updating for me.

Should have been more specific, it is on the debug tab under settings

Are we talking about sensors? Mine i can see they have the date from when the PI created them. What are they updating to? Easy to add it back ..

Got it, should have poked around more. :-) That's cool looking, gotta peruse and see what I can see.

                            Yeah, contact sensors. Example:

Now I noticed these are all set to "Last Change Time Updates on Status Change Only" so is it possible you're not actually having link quality changes so the date never changes? I do see a few contact sensors that have link quality dates back in August. Guess I could turn off that option for them and see if they update more?

I guess good that we have this conversation, I'll add it back in.
As to the setting of "last change time updates ...", the PI actually only send updates to HS when there is a change in state, so in my case, they hadn't changed since the devices were added.
I'll put it back in and post a new version.
