    Hi,

I think you have never named your APs? I simply take the name part of the AP and use that. For some reason, one of them contained the mac address, while the others didn't. I guess I assumed everyone would have named their APs. I will use the mac address is a name is not available in the next version.

Not sure about the UISP. I am always reluctant to support stuff I do not own myself. Also, I don't think many users will have UISP devices. But if I get more requests I can always reconsider.

Beta versions are always freely available, so any help testing those is greatly appreciated!

    Thanks again!

    Hi Stefxx,

Many thanks for the super prompt response. All working now!!
Hopefully your response will help others as well and serve as a start of documentation.

Only bit to note is that the access point creation is not always the same. Some get allocated the mac address as part of the name, others do not. It appears the code that does this only does it for one of the 3 on my system. I then manually changed the names.

Now if you could only do the UISP system also made by Ubiquiti as well (why its not part of the same app is rather annoying as everything else is very well integrated by them!).
It is such a great long range WiFi system I use it to get WiFi to my workshops and add it into the homeseer system using virtualhere (USB over IP).

Many thanks again for the help. If I spot anything else I will let you know.
Also if you ant help beta-testing I am happy to help.

    Mark

    Hi Mark,

Thanks for trying my plugin. Your post makes it clear that I need to work on the documentation. Not everything is as obvious as I had hoped. So thanks for the feedback!

    Unifi Protect disconnected

    What does the above mean?
This is the expected behaviour. Unifi System is basically Unifi OS. Since you don't have an Unifi OS device, it isn't connected. Same for Unifi Protect.

I cannot see how I am meant to configure the software controller to allow access - or do I just use the web portal information? If I do I dont see all the wifi AP MAC details. only one out of three. I had to manually edit this but it consistantly does not populate this properly.

Not sure I understand your question. But there is nothing to configure on the portal, and the plugin only needs three things: the IP address, a (local) user and the password.

Enable Unifi OS - Enabling this seems to break authoriation - what does it do?
Again, this is for a Unifi OS device (Unifi Cloud Key 2, Unifi Dream Machine, Unifi NVR). It won't work for your software controller. The plugin detected that and therefore, it has been disabled. Off course, when you enable it manually again, it will cause errors.

    Enable Unifi Network - Enabled
This is the most important part, and the only part if you are using the software controller.

Enable Unifi Protection - I dont have this but tried enabling it.
Enabling this doesn't make sense if you don't have Unifi Protect.

In the unifi setup I changed this from the default url to this and it seemed to help, should it make a difference?
Not sure what you changed, so unable to comment.

[UniFi-edgworks] UP connection failure: The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized.

The password is correct so what is going wrong. As I say it looks to half work.
The login is just fine (see the line with "Login:"), however the 401 error is from Unifi Protect. Please disable Unifi Protect since you don't have it running.

    Thanks!

Basic Setup help - half working.

Hi, This looks a great plugin but it only half works and I cannot find out how to set it up. I am only using the Unifi Wifi.
I can see some details but it is clear from the status and logs it is not properly cpnfigured somewhere.
Is there a readme I havent found about how to setup the unifi to work and then the plugin to match? I appologise if I missed it, a link in this Forum would be great!

    This is what I get:
