Restoring after power outage, cannot get ak ikea working

    Hiya all.
I had a power outage without a backup I've had to reset everything (which has been frustrating in and of itself, and I've got ahead and started doing backups because well hell... I like my stuff to work.) I'm on HS4 with a hometroller SEL.

Anyway, since then I've not been able to get everything squared away with my gateway. It says it's polling and will not ever go away from that. It also takes down the gateway so I can't use the homesmart app to control my blinds and lights. I'll go, unplug my gateway, plug it back in, it'll wake up and restore app function, but when I go to pair everything with Homeseer, it is dead in the water. on one instance, under auto detect, it put the gateway in twice, once under the name "Unknown" and once under the gateway number. First photo shows the duplicate unknown gateway, both are polling and will not move from there.

Second photo shows the settings, and a status of unauthorised. Any tips? any other info I can provide? I'm very much not a programmer so I'm not great with this. Thanks for the help.

Did you try to delete all IKEA devices and start from scratch?

I know it's not ideal, but if there's no other way....

From the gateway or from homeseer? I've deleted the duplicate gateways in homeseer but not done anything with resetting homesmart or any of the devices in there

Yes, I mean deleting HS IKEA devices. And after restarting the plugin configure the gateway from scratch.

Note: also before starting the plugin - please delete "C:\Program Files (x86)\HomeSeer HS4\Config\AKIkea.ini" (and AKIkea.ini.bak)

I've reinstalled ak ikea through the plug in store and it's made no effect. Pardon my ignorance but how would I access the C:\Program Files (x86)\HomeSeer HS4\Config\AKIkea.ini ? I hate to ask but my noob-ness is inescapable.

Reinstalling plugin doesn't make any difference. You need to disable the plugin, delete all IKEA devices, delete config files (AKIkea.ini and AKIkea.ini.bak)

If you are on Linux - plugin config files are located in "HS ROOT"/Config/ folder

Ok. I've got the plugin disabled. I am on Linux- and I am completely and totally clueless, so I apologize in advance.

Now- using Putty- is there a way that I can delete those files? Or how should I do that? Thanks again for your help, Alex.

Edit: possiblly the command rmdir AKIkea.ini and rmdir AKIkea.ini.bak ?

Where's your HomeSeer installed? You can find HS root using:

                find / -name HS4.exe

You might need sudo in front for root accsess, i.e.

                sudo find / -name HS4.exe

Once you know the root path, you can use (possibly with sudo)

                rm "HS root"/Config/AKIkea*

                And to verify

                ls "HS root"/Config/AKIkea*

Or you can search directly for the config files, i.e.

                sudo find / -name "AKIkea*"
