Using a IKEA smart blind (Fyrtur or KADRILJ)

Getting a IKEA window covering blind to work can take a few extra steps and not work correct initially.
    Here are some steps that can help setting it up correctly}

Important for users having an existing blind
If you had the blind connected to the plugin before version 2.1.1.0 (HS3) or before 4.0.1.2 (HS4) the devices created were not really working fine. The devices have been corrected respectivily in release 2.1.1.1 and release 4.0.1.4. If you are doing the upgrade, make sure to check the events as these may need correction!

A known issue is that for some users the IKEA smart blind can stop sending updates. A simple solution for this issue is taking out the battery for 10 seconds and putting it back in. Updates are then send again.

If you install the curtain to deCONZ the first time, make sure the deCONZ version is current - at least 2.05.76. If you connected the curtain devices should be created in HomeSeer. If you test the open/Close and dim function, check if the dim level updates on a regular basis while the curtain moves. If the dim level does not update there will be some steps that you might need to do inside deCONZ itself. There are some issue binding the blind to deCONZ, so as a workaround, you need to create the binding by hand with the below procedure (step 1 is needed, most often the 2nd step can be skipped when you see the dim level responding in HomeSeer.

    From github of dresden electronics:

How to manually bind and enable attribute reporting on the example of the current position for windows covering devices

    1. Manually bind a cluster
In deconz GUI, select Panels and then Bind dropbox.
For your device as well as the coordinator (blue node), press the most right bullet to expand the available clusters.
*For the coordinator*: Drag&drop 01 Home Automation Endpoint as destination.
*For the device*: Select the windows covering cluster as source, also drag&drop it. Take note that this must be a server cluster (colored blue).
    Press `bind`.
Take the battery of the IKEA smart blind out, wait 10 seconds and put it back in. Control the curtain on the small button so it will send updates.

From that point on, check the devices. Dim values will probably be updated already. In that case you are done.

    2. Manually set up attribute reporting
Then you need to set up attribute reporting. In most cases, there are default settings already defined and should be placed into action either after a deconz restart or power-cycling the device. However, if values do not get updated upon the taken action or not at all, attributes reporting has presumably not been set up properly.

Select windows covering cluster of your device, double click on 0x0008 (current position).
On the lower end of the dialog, enter the values

    Min. report interval: 1
    Max. report interval: 300
    Reportable change: 1

    then press `write config`.

Added an configuration option to the Smart blinds. When using the HS4 (starting with 4.0.2.1) version of the JowiHue plugin you can go to the properties of each blind and set the maximum open and close values in the JowiHue tab. Once set, the plugin will keep those limits when sending commands.

If you send a close command, or set the dim value to 100% the curtain will - with the above settings - close to 80% as maximum close. This way the plugin will prevent closing to far if the height of the windows does not fit the length of the blind. The same goes for the maximum open value.
